FRAMES DESIGN

How to convey a story through a single frame. 

 

For each frame, I wanted to share a new piece of information with the viewer. The challenge with this animation has been to tell a story about a fictional place in a strong and interesting way, where with each new shot there's something new to be discovered. Styleframes had to be strong at the start to achieved this goal.

THE WORKFLOW

Iteration and variation are the keys to success.

 

I've been crafting my workflow for a lot of years, and this project took it two steps forward. By creating a hybrid between Zaoeyo's workflow and mine, I achieved peak optimization. I'm now able to quickly iterate and created variations in no time, while still being able to deliver my best work.

One of the first things I did has been to explore the samurai design. I explored different camera angles, tested different lighting set-up, all that while locking in place its shader.

After several years of simply having fun with my tools, I discovered several technics that I now use daily. Though learning from Zaoeyo made me realize that our field is an infinite source of discovery,  and his lessons added a bunch of new tricks to my bag.
